The Shattered Eye

The Shattered Eye

The world of Horus Arena

The Myth

When Set tore out the Eye of Horus, Thoth pieced it back together fraction by fraction: one half, one quarter, one eighth, one sixteenth, one thirty-second, one sixty-fourth. Six shards, six senses. Added together they make only 63/64 — the Eye was never whole. The missing sixty-fourth, Thoth lent from his own magic. And what is lent gets taken back.

Every night, when Ra’s barge sinks into the Duat, the loan expires: the Eye shatters again. If no one seals its shards on the Altar of Udjat before the Shadow of Apophis swallows everything, dawn does not rise. Horus cannot descend — so he sends Watchers. Set sends his own, to keep the Eye broken. And Thoth counts the blows.

The Six Watchers

One Watcher per fraction, one fraction per sense. The larger the fraction, the more direct the style.

Khaib 1/2

Smell · the Tracker

Scent — reveals shard carriers; his next dive is guided.

“I can smell you from here.”

Akhet 1/4

Sight · the Falcon

Gaze of the Horizon — a piercing dive across the whole arena.

“From up here, everything is small.”

Djehou 1/8

Thought · the Ibis

Step of Thought — a blink that ignores distance, not walls.

“You struck where I used to be. Nuance.”

Miou 1/16

Hearing · the Serval

Echo — a wave that stuns everyone nearby.

“I heard you blink.”

Renen 1/32

Taste · the Serpent

Venom — a toxic trail along her path.

“Bitter… I love it.”

Khepri 1/64

Touch · the Scarab

World’s Grip — knocks foes back and shakes shards loose.

“You dropped something.”

The Factions

The Wings of Horus — seal the Eye, bring back dawn. They believe the world deserves every morning.
The Pack of Set — keep the Eye broken. Not destroyers: liberators. No dawn, no judgment, no debt.
The Accountants of Thoth — neutral and inevitable. Everything is counted. They keep the Register of Nights and collect the Share.

The Rule of the Duat

Weapons of the living cannot enter the world below. Only a will launched at full speed can scatter a spirit — your body is the weapon. And a shard of the Eye blazes like a beacon: to carry the light is to be seen.
